Our August meeting will be held on Saturday August 5th at 11 AM, at The Olive Branch in Westchester, Ohio.
We are having a special guest, a representative from Kobacker House will be here to introduce the need for volunteers for meeting the needs of critically ill individuals and their families. These are much needed services year round and opportunities are available year round for Kringles that have a heart to care for this population. Extended training will be made available to volunteers whom serve.
In our July meeting of Heart of Ohio Santas, we had a great presentation from Wagons Ho Ho Ho. We’re asking our members to help us reach our goal to donate 1,200 cans of corn to Wagons Ho Ho Ho by bringing cans to our August meeting. Participants will be issued 1 raffle ticket every 5 cans donated. Winner of the raffle will receive a special gift the day of the event.
The Story Behind Wagons Ho Ho Ho:
Just a few years ago, RMD Advertising, an integrated advertising agency specializing in challenger food brands, decided to use the money that would otherwise be used for client gifts to do a little good in the world. Enter Wagons Ho Ho Ho.
That first year, a mere 25 wagons (and food) were purchased and distributed to needy families during the holiday season. It just made sense that they would inject playful giving with food into the holidays. “It helps us all remember during this time of year just how fortunate we are, and gives us an opportunity to say thanks.” We couldn’t have said it better! Thank you, RMD.
Wagons Ho Ho Ho is now in its 9th year of existence. In 2016, we hit our goal of 1,000 wagons plus a Christmas dinner in every wagon. We also donated an additional 5,200 pounds of food to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank and worked with more than a dozen charitable distribution partners to find those children in dire need.
We’ve come a long way with the help of RMD, Corporate Supporters, Community Organizations and Volunteers. Join us this year, and see how good it feels to be a Wagoneer!
We hope that Heart of Ohio Santa’s will be able to sponsor 1 wagon for this year’s event at a cost of $110.00 they will also be participating with Tim and Ginny at the Millersport Sweet Corn Festival Parade.
In other member news, we have an IBRBS Insurance Update:
President Bob Elkin announced, Updates on 2017 Insurance policies and BGC. We were able to negotiate the inclusion of the worldwide coverage rider into the base policy, eliminating the extra charge, all while keeping the rates level.
Level I – member rate stays at $165 (including abuse at $100,000 occ/$300,000 agg) /assistant and character rates reduced to $70 each / Worldwide coverage included for all members in the member rate (no separate charge)
Level II – member rate stays at $200 (including abuse at $100,000 occ/$300,000 agg) /assistant and character rates reduced to $75 each / Worldwide coverage included for all members in the member rate. (no separate charge)
